- What is SAP Payroll Configuration?
SAP Payroll allows you to process payroll for employees in the United States, using data from SAP Personnel Administration and Benefits under a wide variety of configurations. The SAP Payroll system also offers a number of standard payroll reports. The Tax Reporter component allows you uto generate all required state and federal tax forms, such as SUI reports and W-2s. Further reports can be generated using Ad Hoc Query in conjunction with an SAP Payroll infotype.
In SAP Payroll, functions provide the high-level logic for payroll calculations. Functions perform general processing – such as calculating payroll taxes on a given set of wages, reading wagetypes from specific infotypes, calculating benefits premiums, and storing the results of the payroll calculation.
The Payroll components is integrated with other SAP HR components, such as Personnel Administration and Benefits. There are also interfaces to other SAP modules such as Financial Accounting and Controlling. SAP Payroll allows American businesses to run payroll for employees in all states. Requisite statutory reports, such as Federal forms 940, W-2, W-3, and all state SUI forms are also supported by the SAP system.
- Typical SAP Payroll Job Requirements
Must have functional configuration experience in Payroll (PY) and at least on of the following SAP Human Resources sub-modules (PA, PD, OM BN Recruiting). Candidates should have strong functional skills and have the ability to facilitate group discussions related to business process blueprinting. Presentation experience, as well as the ability to assist clients in the selection, implementation planning, fit/gap analysis, configuration, testing, rollout and post-implementation support of SAP Payroll solutions, business case development & performance measurement.
